A rider may enter a maximum of 2 horses in the same test, being able to enter other tests with different horses.
A horse can be entered with up to 3 different riders, each forming an isolated rider-horse pair. 
<\/font><\/p>

Entries can choose a single test from each group, applying the following combinations to ride tests in other groups.\nAny entry that rides a test in groups 3, 4, 8 or 9, cannot enter groups 1 or 2. Likewise, any entry that rides a test in group 2 may not ride in group 1 tests.<\/font><\/p>

The tests in group 4 are indicated for horses trained in the vaquera style, which are ridden, as tradition dictates, holding the reins only in the left hand.<\/font><\/p>

Nevertheless, riders who hold the reins in the English or Spanish style with the reins in both hands may also enter.<\/font><\/p>

Groups 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8 can be ridden equally with the reins held with either one or both hands.<\/font><\/p>

Those who choose to ride one handed, must hold the reins in the left hand and the cane in the right hand with the right arm vertically down. In this case, when the length of the reins needs to be adjusted, it must be done with the right hand on the remainder section of the reins that falls from the left hand. Touching or using the right hand on the section of the reins between the left hand and the bit will be scored as an error, deducting 1st time, 2 points, 2nd time, 4 points and 3rd time, elimination.<\/font><\/p>

Rider\u2019s on horses with a \u00abvaquera\u00bb saddle must ride the test with the reins in one hand, except if the test authorizes otherwise.<\/font><\/p>

<\/p><\/font><\/p>

All Group 9 \u2248 Prix Musy \u2248 tests must be ridden in an English sidesaddle holding the reins with both hands.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Attire and Tack<\/strong><\/p>
\n

All tests to be ridden sidesaddle.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

Any type of bridle, English, Spanish, \u00abGoyesca\u00bb or \u00abvaquera\u00bb with a <\/span>\u00abreasonable\u00bb<\/em>bit, snaffle, pelham, double bridle or sole curb, may be used.<\/span>
Unprotected or unpadded \u00abserretas\u00bb are not allowed <\/span><\/font>any type of hackamore, gag, elevator, tandem bits or bits that activate the noseband with the bit; any curb bit with shanks longer than 15 cm, or any bit the Judge deems inhumane.<\/span><\/p>

Please avoid mixing different style tack, for example, an english bridle with a \u00abvaquera\u00bb saddle<\/span><\/font><\/p>

Please avoid tightening the noseband to the maximum.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

All kinds of draw reins, running, elastic or fixed reins, standing or running martingales, boots, bell boots or bandages are strictly forbidden.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

The use of a running martingale, boots, bell boots or bandages is only allowed in Group 9 tests \u2248 Prix Musy \u2248<\/span><\/font><\/p>

It is not essential to plait the horse.<\/span><\/font><\/p>


<\/span><\/font><\/p>

The rider must carry a cane or whip, that does not exceed 100cm when riding holding the reins with both hands and 70cm when riding with the reins only in the left hand.<\/span><\/font><\/p>


<\/span><\/font><\/p>

It is not compulsory to wear a formal or showing habit, but since AEMA encourages the appropriate sidesaddle riding attire, turnout will be judged in order to promote the appropriate dress code among Spanish sidesaddle riders.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

We do recommend the correct dress for sidesaddle riding, although nobody will be left out for not wearing the perfect sidesaddle attire. Please wear riding clothes that are of restrained colours, avoiding unnecessary accessories and have your hair neatly tied back, preferably in a bun so that the hair does not touch the collar of the shirt.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

Riding footwear, breeches, hat or helmet and gloves are mandatory; minors must wear an approved hard hat.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

Riders from other countries who have their own traditional tack and attire may use them according to their custom, preferably adapting the style of the full skirt to an apron.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Salute <\/strong><\/p>


<\/p>\n

The salute at the beginning and end of the tests must be done with the horse standing immobile. The rider must take the reins and cane all in her left hand, lower her right hand to the side, so that the arm falls vertically, bow her head, and then take up the reins and cane back into her right hand before the horse moves forward.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

If the rider omits fails to salute it will be scored as an error.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

The test begins before the horse enters the arena and ends when the horse leaves the arena after the final salute. Therefore, the recording must start before the horse enters the arena and end after he leaves the arena once the test is over. Any part not recorded will be penalized as an error.<\/span><\/font><\/p>

Side-saddle Equitation Classes<\/strong><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

Side-saddle Equitation classes are different to dressage tests; their purpose is to assess the rider's riding style, position, aids, equestrian feel, connection with the horse and coordination with the horse\u2019s movement, as well as the placement and adjustment of the side-saddle on the horse, so that the horse moves with, ease, straightness and obedience, forming an image of harmony between rider and horse.

<\/p>

Jumping Tests \"\ud83c\udfc6\" Prix Musy, are scored not only on the course and penalties for refusal and knockdown, but also on the rider's technique, style, position, and balance during the jump; a secure seat with light contact to give the horse his neck; the discretion of the aids and the rider's connection with the horse; the length of strides, canter on the correct lead, impulsion, take-off, flight, and landing; as well as consistency, rhythm, straightness, and fluidity throughout the course and exercises. <\/p>\n

Side-saddle Equitation classes are different to dressage tests; their purpose is to assess the rider's riding style, position, aids, equestrian feel, connection with the horse and coordination with the horse\u2019s movement, as well as the placement and adjustment of the side-saddle on the horse, so that the horse moves with, ease, straightness and obedience, forming an image of harmony between rider and horse.

Jumping Tests \"\ud83c\udfc6\" Prix Musy, are scored not only on the course and penalties for refusal and knockdown, but also on the rider's technique, style, position, and balance during the jump; a secure seat with light contact to give the horse his neck; the discretion of the aids and the rider's connection with the horse; the length of strides, canter on the correct lead, impulsion, take-off, flight, and landing; as well as consistency, rhythm, straightness, and fluidity throughout the course and exercises. <\/p>\n

Mistakes in the order of the exercises will incur in an error, deducting 1st time, 2 points; 2nd time, 4 points and 3rd time, elimination.<\/span><\/font><\/p>
